Xocen Birding

Explore the exciting Xocen Birding Trail departing from Valladolid.  This adventurous path will lead you to discover forest species of birds and Yucatan endemic birds such as the Yellow-lored Parrot, Yucatán Jay, Rose-throated Tanager, and Yucatán Woodpecker. Here, every corner is an opportunity spot fascinating species! Don’t miss the chance to observe the Caribbean Dove, Collared Forest-Falcon, Gray Collared Becard, Lesson’s Motmot, Northern Bentbill, Gray-headed Kite, and many more wonders of nature. Get ready for an unforgettable experience!

Chankom village & Chichen Itzá 

The archaeological site of Chichén Itzá opens at 8:00 am, that's why we will start birding in Chankom mayan village for don’t miss birds of the area. We are going to spend the early morning looking for forest species. This village is near to Chichén Itzá and presents many opportunities to view both resident and migratory birds.

After spending the early morning birding in Chan-kom, we are going to visit the archaeological site of Chichén Itzá. At this time we will have a specialized guide who will be able to explain all about the archaeological site and cultural aspects  of this important place. Meanwhile we will discover the birds that can be found here during the two-hour tour.

Ria Lagartos Biosphere reserve

This morning we will visit the sand dunes and mangroves vegetation, home of two endemic birds with limited distributions, the Yucatan Wren and Mexican Sheartail and other species of birds such as: Black-throated Bobwhite, Lesser road runner and zenaida dove. The boat tour is available. We can first do the boat tour and then do the land birding. Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve is home to over 380 species of birds. From vast colonies of flamingos to rare Yucatán endemics, this bird watching experience will immerse you in mangroves, lagoons, salt flats, and scrub forests.

The Boat Tour is available on the Ria Lagartos. The boat tour would increase the chances of seeing Common Black Hawk, Boat-billed Heron, close looks at American Flamingos, kingfishers, and other species of the mangroves

Quintana Roo

Coba Birding 

 Our first stop will be the main lagoon of coba for wetland and aquatic birds where we will spend part of the morning looking for forest species. Our last stop will be in the archaeological site of coba a good birding hotspot for Ocellated Turkey, Tawny- winged woodcreeper, black cowled oriole, White-bellied wren, Collared aracari, Bright-Rumped Attila and a buch of other stuff.

Reserva Toh

After to picking up you at your hotel in Cancun city or at the riviera Maya, we ́ll drive to the Reserva Toh, which is situated in the cenotes Route, Puerto Morelos. This birding hotspot presents many opportunities for forest species such as: Tanagers, Tucans, Wrens, Woodpeckers, Woodcreepers Orioles & Trogons.  Target    species for this birding hotspot are: Gray Throated Chat, Black Faced Ant-thrush, Black Catbird, Yucatán Flycatcher, Yucatán Woodpecker and Orange Oriole.

Felipe Carrillo Puerto-Road to Vigía Chico

 Birding along to the  dirty road to vigia chico. This place has a mixed habitats small lagoons and tropical forest presents chances to see a over 360 species o birds reported for this birding hotspot.
